Mary Louise McLaughlin, 69, a woman of many talents and passions, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, in Fountain, Colorado. From her green thumb that nurtured vibrant plants to her culinary skills that crafted unforgettable meals. Her green chili and potato salad were legendary, bringing joy and comfort to all who tasted them Mary brought beauty and flavor to the lives of those around her.
Born in Colorado Springs, she found happiness in telenovelas, the challenge of puzzles, the rhythm of music, and the comforting presence of her cat. A devoted Denver Broncos fan, she passionately cheered her favorite team on, her voice echoing as if coming from the stadium stands. She loved to play with her handheld blackjack game which helped her pass the time. Mary loved to keep her nails on point, always painted and blinged up.
She leaves behind her daughter, Eva (Phillip) Robinson, her grandchildren, Jonathan, Natausha, Phillip Nicholas, Delilah, Phillip Matthew, Orlando, Jaclyn and Alexandra and 15 great-grandchildren, her mother, Emma Torres, and siblings John Edward (Eddie) Martinez and Patricia Benegas. Notably, she also leaves behind Mike McLaughlin, her former spouse and, in her heart, the first and last love of her life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Jesse Martinez, brother Jackie Martinez, sister-in-law Cindy Martinez, and grandson Phillip Raymond. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her.
