

Robert Ortega a longtime resident of Fountain has completed his journey here on earth on 1-14-15. He was married to Tillie (Meehan) who preceded him by death on 8-6-11.
Together they had four children.
Robert held many jobs from a very young age. He joined the Army at 17, served in WWII where he was a prisoner of war and earned the Purple Heart along with several other medals. After leaving the military he worked for Civil Service at Fort Carson for 31 years as an inspector. Sears for 14 years as a mechanic, Nixon Power Plant as a maintenance supervisor, for 12 years, and at Target and Safeway as a greeter.
Robert enjoyed spending time with family, enjoyed the casinos in Las Vegas and Laughlin in Nevada, and making several stops at the casinos in Espanola and Santa Fe in New Mexico.
Our dad was a man with many friends and a giving heart who loved his family very much and he will be greatly missed by all.
Robert is survived by his sister Angie Vigil, his children Ruben (Adrienne) Karen Ortega Totura, Roberta Marie Montano (Paul) and Wayne (Susan). Seven grandchildren, Alissa Totura, Amanda Daniel (Jason), Brittney Yeager, Brandon Ortega, Catlin Ortega, Kylee Ortega and Danielle Montano. Three great grandchildren, Talon Yeager, Hailey Yeager and Hunter Daniel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Monday, January 19, 4:00-7:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Dove Witt Family Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, January 20, at 10:00 am, at
St. Dominic Catholic Church. Burial will be at Fairview Fountain Cemetery.
