William (Bill) Major passed away surrounded by family and friends on March 24, 2017, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Bill was born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 7, 1943 to Edwin and Lillian (Fitch) Major. Bill was married to Kimberly (Farquhar) on July 21, 2002. He was a graduate of Framingham High School and went to college for drafting. Bill was a manager for Digital Equipment Corporation and HP before he retired and started his own remodeling business. He had a strong work ethic and worked hard his entire life.
Bill was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his wife Kimberly and family and friends. He genuinely wanted to be with the people he loved. Bill was a strong athlete and enjoyed participating in the Pikes Peak marathon and various other marathons.
Bill and Kimberly loved to go shooting in their spare time. His knowledge about guns, planes and the military was astounding. Bill was beyond interesting to talk to because he had such a wide range of knowledge. He could talk on anything from politics to religion.
Bill’s family extended from coast to coast and his friends were also spread across the country. He talked to everyone he met and was genuinely interested in their lives. He was a man of honor and integrity. After a conversation with Bill, you became his friend.
Bill Major is survived by his wife Kimberly, his two children Lisa Nickerson and Bill Major Jr (Carolyn), as well as their mother, Beverly Holt. He is also survived by his two step-sons Kyle Green and Jared Green, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Nooty Mcquilken and Betty Ward and his brother Harold Major.
Bill touched so many lives and will be missed by family and friends and will forever be in our hearts. Bill’s life will be celebrated in a private gathering with family and friends.
