IN THE CARE OF
Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service
William “BeJoe” Garwood Jr., age 61, went to forever ride with our Lord, Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 22, 2022.
He is survived by his daughter, Harley Jean Garwood (Jeremy); his grandchildren, Avery and Noah; his sons, Justin and his four children, Brandon, and Jacob.
BeJoe will also be greatly missed by his two sisters, Robin Edenton and Cathy Hooker (David); his three brothers, Troy Garwood (Jess), Mark Garwood (Lisa), and Tony Garwood (Jody); his aunt, Ruth; his uncle, Hurley; his aunt Hennie; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a mountain of friends who he considered family.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Garwood Sr.; his mother, Gwendolyn Fern Dickinson; his step father, William H. Dickinson; and his nephew, Travis C. Hooker.
BeJoe passed doing what he loved the most, riding his Harley Davidson. He was heading back home from a trip to Florida.
BeJoe always said “there is a difference between being a biker and being a bike owner”.
Although he enjoyed riding his bike, he loved nothing more than spending time with Avery and Noah, usually riding dirt bikes. When the kids would say, “I love you Grandpa” he would give them the “grandpa dance” with a smile on his face. Grandpa was a very special person to them!
BeJoe also enjoyed fishing, hunting at times and even tried his hand at golf, not very successfully but honestly, it didn’t matter what he was doing he had a great time and always kept a smile on his face.
BeJoe was a free spirited person and never met a stranger. He would walk in a room and shout, “Here I am, your welcome” and bolt out that contagious laugh of his. Then he would say, “I can’t stay long, I’m in a hurry”. And as he would leave, his parting words were always, “Glad y’all got to see me”.
A visitation for BeJoe will be held from 11:00am-12:30pm on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. His celebration of life will start at 12:30pm with his burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3702 Loren Drive, Fredericksburg, Virginia.
