

He was the youngest model, in his family and his Alexandria community. The photographer (Nancy Sharpe) started his modeling career when he was just a couple days old. She dressed him up in every outfit he had and took pictures of her grandson. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He served as Sound Room Engineer, Church of the Redeemed.
De’Ante had this magnetic effect, which made women of all ages/backgrounds flock to him; as they all loved him and bragged about how handsome he was at a young age. These women would literally be racing to be the first one to admire him. He grew up in Prince William County where he attended Woodbridge Christian School. His parents then moved to Stafford County, VA where he continued his education and his passion for photography. He attended and graduated from Colonial Forge High School class of 2008.
He immediately followed in his father’s footsteps and entered the Food Service industry where he excelled from day one. He worked at Chick‐fil‐A, Wendys’, Applebees’ where he was a shift manager and Bar‐Louie as Front of House (FOH) Manager. He loved his family, friends, his co-workers and every customer he served. However, his biggest joy was yet to come‐ he was so excited to know his sister was expecting, and that he was about to become an uncle to Emani Jamelia Whittington. De’Ante rededicated his life to Christ October 2021, Praise God!
This walk of life ended for De’Ante on Saturday morning, March 19, 2022; when he was called from his earthly labors to his eternal reward with God. Many prayers and supplications were made on his behalf throughout the United States. God heard all of them as he chose his perfect will for De’Ante and that was his healing to be accomplished with Him in heaven. His mission and assignment on earth were successfully completed.
De’Ante was preceded in death by his father: Eddie Whittington; paternal grandparents: Eddie Manor & Beatrice Whittington; maternal grandparents: Nancy & Thomas Sharpe; Uncle: Thomas Sharpe III and stepbrother: Maurice Toombs.
Precious memories of De’Ante will be cherished by his mother, Mary (Emmett, aka; Pops) Toombs, sister: De’Nae Whittington, stepbrothers: Dwight (Tabitha) Toombs, Port St. Lucie, FL; LaShawn Wilder, Jupiter, FL; stepsisters: LaKechia Toombs, Tallahassee, FL; and Kiera Daughtry, Havre de Grace, MD, his two favorite Auntie’s: Debora (Donnie) Trawick, Manassas VA and Darlene Sharpe, Pensacola, FL. His best cousins‐brothers: Tramell Trawick, Manassas, VA; Donnell (Yesica) Lakeridge, VA; and Dominic (Erin) Sanford, FL; a host of other relatives, cousins, friends and co‐workers that he considered as his extended family members.
We don’t say goodbye to De'Ante, but we say‐“ good night De’Ante… see you in the morning.”
