Dorothy served in the United States Marine Corps obtaining the rank of Sergeant and later worked as an executive secretary for General Motors. She was a member of the American Legion Post 203, AARP, the Women Marines Association, served on the Board of Directors of the Fredericksburg Senior Center, and was Past President of the Mary Washington Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children, Thomas J. Dinnauer (Fran), and Susan Dinnauer; her grandchildren, David Lambrecht, and Lisa Lambrecht (Jay); and her great grandchildren, Sofia, Marshall, Maddie, and Shiloh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Dinnauer; and her daughter, Linda Dinnauer.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff and administration of Cardinal Village for their constant kindness, caring, and support. A special thank you to the “Activity Girls” who always gave Dorothy as reason to smile.
