Obituary of Margaret Owens Schultze
Margaret Owens Schultze, 85, of Fredericksburg passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018. Margaret was born February 1, 1933, in Moon, Virginia, to Bertram and Janie Owens. She was preceded in death by her siblings Bertram, Walter, John, and Betty Jane. In 1954, Margaret graduated from Johnston-Willis Hospital School of Nursing. She was one of “John’s Devine.” She worked private duty, in doctor’s offices, and at Eastern State Hospital. At one time she worked as a teller in a bank in Gloucester, Va. Margaret and Bill moved from Gloucester to Spotsylvania County in 1974 where she began working at Mary Washington Hospital. She retired from MWH in 1995. Margaret was a loving, caring, compassionate nurse revered by all she met and worked with. On December 18, 1954, she married William P. Schultze. This year they would have celebrated 64 years of endless love and commitment. She is survived by her husband, William P. Schultze; her son, George W. Schultze (Rathje); her daughter, Betty S. Glupker; her grandchildren, Samantha Hawkins, Joshua Glupker, Rebecca Schultze, Brian Schultze, Jennifer Schultze, and Kelsey Skinner; 3 great grandchildren; and many other family and friends. As a wife, Mama, Granny, family member, and friend she was devoted to all, gave her all. As tribute a celebration of Margaret’s life will be held from 1:00 to 3:00pm on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Virginia State Police Association Emergency Relief Fund, vspa.org or charity of choice.
