

She was born on 18 April 1928 in Yosemite, Kentucky to Essie T. and William E. Cundiff. She attended and graduated from Casey County High School in 1945 and Transylvania College in Lexington, KY in 1949 where she was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority.
Norma taught elementary education in Casey County KY, Ascension School, Louisville, KY. She taught at Putnam Elementary and Washington Elementary in Marietta, OH. She opened the Pioneer Learning (Heritage Tutoring) Center in Marietta. Her involvement with Ohio Education and the Marietta City Schools was significant as she served as President of MEA and was named the 1997 State Teacher of Ohio Administrator.
Norma (Mrs. Loew) was a teacher’s teacher in that at any official or educational gathering, she was at the center of the gathering of teachers. It wasn’t “her” way so much as it was teachers that she worked with loved her. No misunderstanding at all. She was Miss T.
Norma is survived by her husband of 68 years, Earl Richard (Dick) Loew, her two sons Stephen Gregory Loew and Michael Richard Loew, his wife, Patricia Ann (Nehl) Loew; her granddaughter Jessica Michelle (Loew) Del Toro and her husband Christopher Del Toro, her grandsons, Michael Robert Loew, Christopher Richard Loew, Matthew Richard Loew, Alexander Patrick Loew, great-grand daughter Lillian Elise Del Toro; nieces Brenda K (Dowell). Flowers, Polly (Dowell) Westfall, and Sarah (Dowell) Guzman, as well as many beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her father, William E. Cundiff and mother, Essie T Cundiff, her sister, Mildred (Cundiff) Dowell and Mildred’s husband, Dr. Vulus R Dowell, and her niece Linda (Dowell) Morgan.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Burial will be at the Quantico National Cemetery, 09 October 2020 at 02:00pm. Mullins & Thompson are handling the funeral arrangements.
