Paul was raised in Amityville, NY. He attended SUNY Maritime College where he earned a mechanical engineering degree. After college he worked for engineering companies in Virginia that worked for the Navy. Fourteen years ago he joined the NAVFAC division of the Navy. There he designed ships and ship systems. He then followed their progress through building, application, and demolition. During this time he earned his professional engineering license. Recently he was promoted to Program Director of the NAVFAC division where he had been working.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his children, Geoffrey, Alexander, Kayden, and Makayla Denas; his parents, Beverly and Ronald Bode; his brother, Wayne and wife Amy; and his sister, Lee Anne Ramirez and husband Miguel.
To honor Paul, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, Semper K9, or Project Fit America.
