

Ray is survived by his son, Mark Evelsizer, Pittsburgh, PA; his daughter, Melinda (Mark) Jamison, Washington, DC; grandchildren Mark Jr. and Maggie Evelsizer; and beloved companion Judy Page. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and wife, Margaret (Peggy) Evelsizer.
Ray grew up in Chester, WV, and graduated from East Liverpool Senior High School. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Ft. Knox, KY, and Ft. Belvoir, VA.
Ray was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and worked at the FBI Academy, Quantico, VA. He retired from the FBI after 25 years of federal government service. Ray was also a well respected Master Plumber in the Fredericksburg area. He was known for his reliability, excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills.
Ray was a devout Christian. He served as a deacon at Hulls Memorial Baptist Church. He later was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.
Ray enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing outdoor sports activities and watching the Washington Commanders and Wizards.
A service will be held at 2:30PM on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Emancipation Highway, Fredericksburg, VA, 22401. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The interment will be private at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
