Richard M. Crook, 87, of Fredericksburg, Virginia went to be with the Lord on August 22, 2018 at Mary Washington Hospital surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 8, 1931 to Ralph and Madeline Crook in Providence, Rhode Island. He was one of five siblings; Ralph Crook, Patricia Loud, Madeline White, and twin brother Robert Crook. Loving husband, father and amazing grandfather; he is survived by his wife and best friend of 64 years, Joan Crook. Three children; Karen Dodson, Paul Crook and his wife Jennifer Sims, Nancy Reynolds and her husband Anthony Reynolds. Grandfather to seven grandkids; Tommy, Ashley and her husband Jake Evans, Nikki, Krissy, Melissa, Dale and Danny. Also, a great grandfather to Grayson and Ashlynn. He joins in Heaven his mother and father, his four siblings, his grandchild Edwin and son in law; Jim Dodson. He enjoyed spending his time in Florida, fishing, traveling and taking cruises with his wife. He will forever be remembered for his patient, loving and kind personality. We will be forever grateful for his service and sacrifice in the United States Army where he received an honorable discharge.
Viewing will be held at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service 1621 Jefferson Davis Highway, Fredericksburg, Virginia. Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 6-8 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 @ 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 1009 Stafford Ave. Fredericksburg, VA followed by a burial at Quantico National Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Following the burial we will have a celebration of Richard at his home.
