

The son of Robert Lindzay Dunlap Sr. & Lenora Willis Dunlap, Robert Lindzay Dunlap Jr. grew up in Lyndhurst, NJ. He came into this world March 1st, 1949, in Passaic, NJ. Robert “Doc” Lindzay Dunlap Jr. Graduated from Wayne High School in Wayne, NJ, and a graduate of National University in San Diego, CA with a bachelor’s degree of Business Administration as Magna Cum Laude.
At the age of 19, Robert enlisted in the United States Army where he served 3 and a half years as a helicopter pilot and also served in the United States Navy for 27 years as a Hospital-Man “Corpsman”, where he earned the name “Doc” which would follow him until his passing. He valued his service highly and obtained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer II (CWO2) in the United States Army as well as Chief Petty Officer (CPO) in the United States Navy. As part of this service, Robert, served his country with honor, and pride throughout many conflicts and peace time efforts throughout his 30-year military career including the Vietnam War with the United States Army where he received the Army Air Medal, one of the top honors in the US Army. During his United States Navy career he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal twice, among many other accolades throughout his many years of service.
“Doc” is survived by his beloved wife Derinda Dunlap, Daughter Nicole Dunlap, Bonus Daughter Tiffany Webb and Spouse Micheal Webb, and Bonus Son Michael DuMoulin, multiple grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; one Brother Richard Dunlap, and one Sister Sharon Dunlap Morris; many nieces & nephews, & lifetime friends. He is preceded by his Father Robert Lindzay Dunlap Sr, Mother Lenora Willis Dunlap, and his Younger Brother Brian Dunlap. “Doc” will be remembered most for being the type of patriot that didn’t care what others thought and would stand proud for the USA, an uncanny personality full of grumpiness, love, & laughter that will never be matched, but forever missed.
A service honoring the life of Robert “Doc” Lindzay Dunlap Jr. will be held at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Home., 1621 Emancipation Hwy., Fredericksburg, VA 22401 on February 24th, 2023 at 1:00pm.
