Colonel Adamas was an amazing officer and American Hero.  I was fortunate to have served with him at Fort Rucker in the 1st Cav Division from 1988 through 1991, including Desert Shield and Desert Storm.  Although we lost touch through the years, it is clear that he led an amazing, succesful  warriors life and will be truly missed.  Rest in peace Colonel.  

Rick and I were in flight school at Ft Rucker, AL many years ago.  I saw Rick again in Afghanistan a couple of years ago and it was great to see what he had done in his very successful career.  He was a true leader and a true friend.  He and I were talking on the phone only a week before his death talking about possibilities for future endeavors together.  Anyone who knew Rick knows the caliber of person he was and he will surely be missed.  "ABOVE THE BEST" my dear friend, I will miss you.

There are too many memories and experiences to adequately put into words what COL Rick Adams meant to me.  Our journeys have been intertwined for many, many years and I'm heartbroken that they've come to an end.   From that first time that I met him in the field at Fort Hood, to the  deployments, to working for him for the better part of 15 years, there are too many funny, serious, or emotional moments that we've had. He was always a friend first and he had an open and generous heart and  would give you the shirt off of his back.  I can't count the nights we've spent watching Adult Swim or  South park, drinking beer, and talking about life.  I consider Rick one of my closest friends and I'm going to miss him.     

I will always remember my dad smile and laugh.

Him and i always stayed up for hours playing music and washing or waxing his car

I will miss my father very much.
