Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at First Christian Church, 6 East 7th Street in Fulton. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street in Fulton.
Jean was born on September 26, 1925 in Mt. Stewart, Prince Edward Island, Canada to the late George and Amy MacLauchlan MacKenzie. She was married to Rev. Dr. Henry C. Niles on June 24, 1950 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Henry preceded her in death in 1975. She was then married to John M. Grant on November 11, 1978 and he preceded her in death in 2001.
Jean was a long time member of Old Auxvasse Nine Mile Presbyterian Church in Williamsburg, Missouri. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. She loved to travel and was delighted to have been able to visit all 50 states and many European countries.
Survivors include one daughter, Naomi Niles of New York, New York; two sons, Henry (Barbara) Niles of Fulton and John (Sue) Niles of Marion, Iowa; one brother, Willard MacKenzie of Marathon, Ontario, Canada; one sister, Shirley Crawford of San Carlos, California; one cousin, Laura F. Walsh of Osterville, Massachusetts, one granddaughter, Katie (Brian) Rhoades of Fulton; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Jacob Rhoades of Fulton along with one step-grandson, Kevin Meeker of Marion, Iowa.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Old Auxvasse Nine Mile Presbyterian Church or Churchill Memorial both in care of Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, Missouri 65251.
