Born on August 13, 1934, in Black Creek, AL, to the late Paul Millard and Sallie Adams, Annie Jo was a woman defined by her deep faith in the Lord and her servant’s heart. She served as the church secretary for many years and was a faithful member of the Ladies of Grace Sunday School Class. She was married to her beloved husband, Herb "Skeet" Cochran, for 61 beautiful years. Highlights of their life together were spent raising their family and traveling to Gulf Shores, Nashville, Gatlinburg, Missouri, and much more.
Annie Jo was a fiercely independent woman and a pillar of the community. She worked well into her 90s at the Rainbow City Utility Board and proudly drove herself to work, church, and everywhere she went right up until the very end. Her dedication to others was evident through her volunteer work with the White Springs' Helping Hands Ministry and her profound commitment to friendship, visiting dear friends in the nursing home four to five days a week. Always enjoying being surrounded by her loved ones, family was the most important thing in her life. She never started or ended a day without calling to check on her son and daughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Malvin Cochran; her parents, Millard and Sallie Adams; siblings, Genevive Sanders, P. M. Adams Jr., Ruth Edna Minton, and James Andersen Adams; and her grandson, Adam Keith Cochran.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Dr. Herbert Keith (Teresa) Cochran; daughter, DeAnna Jordan; grandchildren, Dana Teague, Micah Cochran, Leah (Tyler) Warren, Lora (Trent) Darby, Amy (Stephen) Dewey, and Wendy Hyche; and her cherished great-grandchildren: Taylor, Clay, and Wesly Teague, Corbin Lynn and Cambrie Jo Dewey, Zion James Mobley, Cecilia and Cailynn Warren, and Deacon Blake Darby.
Pallbearers will be Micah Cochran, Taylor, Clay, Wesly, and Todd Teague, and Scott Prichett. Honorary Pallbearer is Adam Keith Cochran (in memoriam).
Although flowers will be gladly accepted, donations may also be made to the "Ladies of Grace" Sunday School Class at White Springs Baptist Church, or to the Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.*
The family sincerely appreciates everyone who loved and supported Jo throughout her full and blessed life. We offer to you our deepest and most sincere gratitude.
