

Mrs. Betty Vinson, 83, of Gadsden, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2009. A chapel service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2009. Rev. Randy Gunter will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton, AL. Services entrusted to the care of Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services.Mrs. Vinson was born in Texas on August 2, 1926. She was a loving wife and mother and worked in numerous civic clubs and community services. She loved her friends and family and loved to serve in different capacities at Meadowbrook Baptist Church. Mrs. Betty Vinson was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Dr. Kinyon Vinson of Clanton, AL. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Blanch Panter.Mrs. Vinson is survived by her daughter, Vickie Vinson Miller; son, Ken Murphy Vinson; son-in-law, Dr. Noah Dean Miller; grandsons, Dr. Marc (Anna) Miller, Matthew (Rebecca) Miller, Kinyon (Kim) Vinson and Stephen (Anna) Vinson; daughter-in-law ,Cyndi Mona; great grandchildren, Annabelle Susan Miller, Marcus Bo Miller, Lincoln Vinson, and Mia Vinson; nephews, Vinse McClendon, Ron McClendon and Jerry McClendon; niece, Judy Thorne; 9 great nieces and nephews; and 11 great great nieces and nephews.Special thanks to: Mrs. Betty Campbell, Dr. Sinha, Dr. Lucian Newman III, Dr. Franklin, Dr. Feist, Dr. Ajamoughli, Riverview Regional Hospital staff, Alacare Hospice and Gadsden Health Care and Rehab staff.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Etowah County Humane Society or Meadowbrook Baptist Church.The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until time of service.Online condolences can be made at www.collier-butler.com.
