
Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Bobbie King Bearden Odom, 83, who went home to be with the Lord Sunday, July 7, 2013. Rev. Robert Luker will officiate. Burial will be at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mrs. Odom was a member of Rainbow City First Baptist Church. She and her sister Margie were co-owners of King’s Kountry Kitchen. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Cecil Bearden and Richard “Dick” Odom; parents Dewitt Talmadge King and Harriet Safrona Smiley King; 2 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Mrs. Odom is survived by her daughters: Jean (Dennis) Simpson, and Kay (Steve) Branning; grandchildren: Lori (Todd) Ivey, Nathan (Vanessa) Branning, Heather (Tracy) Hall, and Matt (Allison) Simpson; great-grandchildren: Ashton and Austin Hall, Mattie, Maryn, and Major Simpson, Ross, Rylan and Ridge Ivey; sister, Jo Barron; numerous nieces and nephews; and step-daughter: Rita Henry.
Pallbearers will be: Matthew Simpson. Austin Hall, Nathan Branning, Chris King, and Tracy Hall.
Special thanks to Riverview Medical Center ICU Nurses Stephanie and Beverly, and the nurses and staff at Gadsden Healthcare.
The family will accept friends from 11:30-12:30 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
