Brenda Sue “BB” Gray passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. She was born on March 9, 1949 and was a native of Rainbow City. BB was a hairdresser for 30 years in the Canoe Creek area and worked at Health Tex for 5 years with her best friend and sister, Cindy. Although she did not have any biological children of her own, she helped raise all of her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Stewart Gray and Margaret Ramsey Gray; brother and sister-in-law, Allen and JoAnn Coker Gray; sister, Barbara Scales; nephews, Matthew and Jonathan Yates.
BB leaves behind sisters, Renee (Michael) Yates and Cindy (Michael) Smedley; brother-in-law, Donald Scales; nieces and nephews, Paige (Garry) Mintz, Amy (Ronald) Gray Dillard, Brooke (Bruce) Copeland, Shane (Lindsey) Gray, Jessica (Philip) Dye, Cora Yates, and Ryan Smedley; great-nieces and nephews, Morgan, Madison (Blane Payne) and Jakeb Mintz; Koby Dillard; Zoe, Alyssa and Wyatt Copeland; Molly and Emma Gray; Skyler and Jaython Novak; Caleb, Jacob and Livvy Dye; special friend, Stephanie Moore; and special cousin and loving friends, Sherrie and George Fagerstrom; and numerous extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
Services will be at 12:30 pm Friday, January 13, 2017 followed by burial at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Shane Gray, Garry Mintz, Jakeb Mintz, Koby Dillard, Philip Dye, Ronald Dillard, Ryan Smedley, and Blane Payne.
