Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2015 at Crestwood Cemetery for Charles “Charlie” Glenn McWhorter, 78, of Gadsden, who passed away Monday, August 24, 2015. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Charlie grew up in Gadsden, Alabama later moving to Birmingham with his wife Bebe. He was a customer engineer for IBM retiring in 1991 after 25 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Birmingham AGCA and had a love for anything that was mechanical especially old cars.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Bebe Kelley McWhorter and parents, William Haden and Nola Wright McWhorter.
He is survived by his sons, Mark Haden McWhorter (LeeAnn), Warren David McWhorter (Tracy), Kyle Thomas McWhorter; grandchildren, Ava Kelly, Ella Grace, Anna Victoria, Parker Joseph, Samuel Haden and Kelley Anne McWhorter; brother, Edwin McWhorter (Fran) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
The family will accept friends Thursday, August 27th from 5-7pm.
