Funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. Charles Sherman Harrell, age 83, of Gadsden who passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010 Rev. James Cohorn will officiate with burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Service Directing.
Charles was born and raised in Calhoun County where he was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Charles was also a United States Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Annie J. Harrell; sons, Eddie (Cassy) Harrell of Oxford; Travis Harrell of Birmingham; grandchildren, Cody and Carly Harrell; brother Calvin (Sarah) Harrell.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie A. and Dixie Lee Harrell; sister, Verna Scales Nelson.
Pallbearers will include: Jerry Kirkland, Joe Harrell, Mike Harrell, Marlin Harrell, Tom Parris, Ricky Formby.
Special thanks to the staff at Northside Health Care and staff of the CICU Unit at Riverview Regional, Dr. Todd Cross and Dr. Courtney Lowe. Visitation will be held Friday, September 17, 2010 from 6pm until 8pm at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
