Cheryl Burger Pierce

Cheryl was a 1967 graduate of Gadsden High School and 1968 graduate of Alabama School of Trades in Cosmetology. She was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church. Cheryl enjoyed working with the children in the Preschool Sunday School class and Vacation Bible School for many years. She was employed by Etowah Baptist Foundation and retired from Etowah County Medical Society and Physicians Who Care after 18 years of devoted service.

Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her father, Clarence E. Burger; father in law, Robert G. Pierce, and mother in law: Doris B. Lett. She is survived by her husband of 52 years and the love of her life, Larry T. Pierce; son, Jason (Michelle) Pierce; the greatest joys of her life, her grandchildren, Harrison, Lynley and Anderson Pierce; mother, Audra Baswell Burger; sister, Debbie Burger (Donny) Pruitt; chosen family, James & Dell Mackey; sister in law, Judy (Robert) Orr; brother in law, Jeff (Pam) Pierce; nephew, Tim (Tonya) Orr; Wayne (Cambri) Pierce; niece, Lisa (Jarrod) Simmons; Lori Pierce Jones, and Jenny Pruitt. A host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

We would like to thank her lifelong friends for their love and support; Van and JoAnn Lockridge, Bobby and Nancy Mizell, Kerry and LuAnn Gladden, Donna Boozer, and Brenda Estes. Her working career friends; Suzanne Phillips, Andrea Christenberry, Gail Spotniz, Lisa Dobbins, Dr. Sandra Carpenter, and the late Carroll Crane.

Pallbearers will be Billy Coplin, Kerry Gladden, Joey Sims, Tim Orr, Eddie Blythe, Steve Burgess, Jeff Pierce, and Terry Boozer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Jim Phillips, Dr. Seth Spotnitz, Dr. George Fant, Dr. Sandra Carpenter, and all members of The Etowah County Medical Society and Physicians Who Care.

Funeral services for Cheryl Burger Pierce will be held at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home in Gadsden, AL. The family will receive friends from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm at the funeral home. Dr. Darrell Brown, The Reverend Larry Garrard, and

Dr. Van Lockridge will officiate.
