

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Liberty Baptist Church Crossville, Alabama (Painter Community) for Curtis A. (Kid) Reeves, 94, of Gadsden. Bro. Roger White, Bro. Charles Watkins, and Bro. Earl Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Reeves worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 39 years. He was a lifetime member of Liberty Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and led music for 70 years. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W.II, and was an active member of the O.E.S.
He is survived by his wife, Wynell Reeves; son, Randall (Elaine) Reeves; daughter, Regina (Jeff) Word; grandchildren, Kevin (Christina) Reeves, Stephen (Tracey) Reeves, Kristi (Jonathan) Morton, Hannah (Stephen) Wooten, Emily Word and Noah Word. Great-grandchildren, Andrew Reeves, Aaron Reeves, John Curtis Reeves, Samuel Reeves and Jamison Goosby. Brother, Rayburn Reeves.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Addie Reeves; brothers, George Rudolph Reeves and Neal Reeves. Sisters, Vela Mae Taylor, Christine Hill and Kathleen Ridgeway.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Reeves, Stephen Reeves, Jonathan Morton, Ricky Johnson, Jeff Allen and Shannon Allen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Wooten and Frank Painter.

A special thank you to caregivers, Jane (Willie) Ragland, Rebecca Wilchar, and employees and management of East Gadsden Dari-Queen.
Visitation will Saturday, September 8, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Collier Butler Funeral Home; and Sunday, September 9, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church.
Flowers will be accepted, or in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Painter Community Cemetery Road Paving Fund c/o 808 Co. Road 9, Crossville, AL 35962.
