
Earl Clayton McCool, Jr. age 93 passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be Thursday, October 29, 2015 from 11am to 12 pm at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Private graveside services at a later date..
Mr. McCool was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Rosalee Mizer McCool and son, Duane C. McCool.
He is survived by his son Clay A. (Teresa) McCool and daughter-in-law, Margaret McCool.
He had five grandchildren: Dr. Alan (Amy) McCool, Meredith (Hays) Latimer, James (Candice) McCool, Kristen (Zac) Hardiman and Kelly McCool; and two great-grandchildren: Margaret Anne Latimer and Locke Tyree.
Mr. McCool proudly served his country in World War II as a First Lieutenant Pilot in the Army/ Air Force Reserve. Mr. McCool was a member of First Baptist Church of Gadsden. He was a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and a Professor at Jacksonville State University.
He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor. He was an avid tennis player and collector of old radio programs.
The family would like to thank Alacare Hospice, especially Nurse, Kelly Usry, also, many thanks for loving and devoted caregivers that allowed him to live his last days at home.
