Ed was a graduate of Hokes Bluff High School and had attended Jacksonville State University. He had retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as a supervisor after 46 years service. Ed enjoyed being outdoors, especially golfing, off road riding and boating.
He is preceded in death by his father, Frances Sexton Estes; mother, Myra Sims; and stepbrother David Sims.
He is survived by his wife, Juana "ChiChi" Estes; sons Todd, Jason, and Blain (Jessica) ; granddaughters Harper and Amelia; extended family that he dearly loved, Maria and Donnie Wiggins, Rita and John Houston, Luis and Ginga Gonzalez, Jose and Poly Gonzalez, Sue and Wes Rumbley, Mike and Judy Sims, and Mike and Sarah Weaver; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
In honor of Ed and in lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to St. Jude Hospital at stjude.org.
