

Frankie Ann Smith, age 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 19, 2022. She was born on October 1, 1935, in Southside, Alabama, to Jake and Myrtle Smith. She eloped and married her longtime friend and love, Lee Roy Smith, in June of 1952 who preceded her in death in August of 2022.
All that mattered to her was loving and caring for her family and friends. She attended Carnes Baptist Church where she had been a member for 60 plus years. For many years Frankie worked at General Times as well as London Bridge Day Care in North Gadsden. Her life was a living example of love, kindness and compassion for one another, forgiving one another, just as God forgave you in Christ.”
Frankie was preceded in death by her spouse, Lee Roy Smith; and son, Michael Smith.
She is survived by her brother, Rex Smith; her children, Renee (Bob) Moon, and Cindy (Mike) Johnson; grandchildren, Dale Lyles, Greg Smith, Eric Smith, Carly Gonzalez, Zach Johnson, and Caitlin Cook; great grandchildren, Dylan Lyles, Hayden Lyles, Alayna Smith, Kayleigh Smith, Sean Smith, Ryder, River, Ari, Mila, Talen Gonzalez and Chloe Cook; and her nephews, Victor Auito, Frank Smith, Tommy Culberson, Vann Culberson, Chris Smith and Cameron Smith, all of these people she loved and touched deeply.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to Kindred Hospice, Regina Martin and Sharon Granger.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Collier-Butler Chapel. Dr. Van Lockridge will officiate. Burial will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Southside, AL. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
The family will accept friends from 11:00AM until the hour of the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
