

Harold W. Gentry passed away at his home on Friday, May 11th, 2012, after an extended illness. Rev. Billy York will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will be in charge of services with burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Collier-Butler Chapel with visitation Sunday evening from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Harold lived in Etowah County most of his life, graduated from Gaston High School (Class of ’55), attended Gadsden State Community College, was of Baptist Faith, a member of Glencoe Masonic Lodge and was retired from Gulf States Steel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Bertha Gentry. He is survived by a sister, Ava (Bill) Palmer, nieces and nephews. He leaves behind Linda, his wife of 52 years, his four children, Cynthia (Richard) Groover, Greg (Tammy) Gentry, Renea (Michael) Rollins and Phillip Gentry. Grandchildren are Jason (Ashley) Groover, Haley and Corley Groover, Brittany and Jackson Gentry, Ariel Rollins and Addie Gentry.
Harold loved his family, enjoyed his precious grandchildren, enjoyed working with friends at the Steel Plant and was an avid Alabama Football fan. We will love and cherish him in our hearts forever.

Pallbearers will be Jason Groover, Richard Groover, Michael Rollins, David Wills, Michael Wills, Tommy Franklin, Jimmy Robinson, and Scott Bolton.
Special friends are Frank and Martha Palmer, Gerald and Betty Sue Jones, and Jerry Fry.
