

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Helen Mae Freeman-Whiteside, 79, of Gadsden, who passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013. Rev. David Carroll will officiate. Burial will be at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is directing.
Mrs. Freeman was a Nurse for 30 years at Gadsden Regional Medical Center (formerly The Baptist Hospital). She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a Baptist and a born-again believer.
She was preceded in death by her Husband of 51 years, Norman L. Freeman; loving daughter, Sharon Simmons; and grandsons, Kevin Simmons and Barry Freeman.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Whiteside; children: Sheila Rose, Ron (Jackie) Freeman, Don (Tami) Freeman, Melissa (Alvin) Johnson, and Bud Simmons; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be: Chance Johnson, Chris Simmons, Britt Shores, William Kemp, Ron Freeman, and Don Freeman.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Etowah Pregnancy Testing Center.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
