Funeral services will be Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler Chapel for Howard “Bunky” Esslinger, 79, of Gadsden, who passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012. Rev. Jay Stewart will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery.
Mr. Esslinger was a member of Dwight Baptist Church and was in Military Intelligence for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by: his parents: Howard and Olena Esslinger; and mother-in-law: Lucille Abernathy.
He is survived by: his wife: Geneva Esslinger; Son: Robert (Lana) Esslinger; daughters: Carol (Abe) Williams, and Melissa Mitchell; grandchildren: Mandy Vann, Megan Vann, Micah Esslinger, Matthew esslinger, Pierce Mitchell, and McKinlee Mitchell; great-grandchildren: Ayden Jackson, and Avery Vann; and brother, Gary (Patsy) Esslinger.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Dwight Baptist Church New Life Center.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 2, 2012 form 12:00-2:00 prior to the service.
