Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. James F. Henderson, 84, of Southside, who passed away Friday, May 20, 2011. The Rev. Ricky Smith will officiate with burial in Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mr. Henderson was a native of Jefferson County and a 14-year resident of Etowah County. He was a member of First United Methodist Church Rainbow City and Masonic Lodge No. 749, Fairfield. Mr. Henderson had retired from U.S. Steel and was a Navy veteran serving in World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Flo Nan Henderson; daughter, Deborah Moore and husband, Chuck; son, Dennis Henderson and wife, Patsy; and other family members from Walker County.
The family extends a special thanks to Jan Handley, Linda Wilson and nurses and staff of Comfort Care Hospice.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until the hour of service Monday at the funeral home.
