

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Collier-Butler Chapel for James F. Knight, 73, of Gadsden, who passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014. Bro. Chris Walker will officiate. Interment will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mr. Knight was the owner and operator of River Country Campground and Summer Chase Apartments. He was the former Vice President of East Gadsden Bank as well as a commercial real estate entrepreneur. Mr. Knight was a member of Cross Creek Community Church and was a supporter of various civic organizations including The Lions Club, Rotary Club, and The Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed sharing his love of Christmas through his annual Christmas light display, and enjoyed boating, fishing, travel and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Knight was a graduate of Walker Junior College, Jacksonville State University and LSU School of Banking. He was preceded in death by his parents, James M. Knight and Ruth Glover Knight; Niece, Shelley Jetton; and Sister-in-law, Gwen Knight.
Mr. Knight is survived by his wife, Debbie Knight; daughter, Karen (Jeff) Pruett; son, Jason F. (Angela T.) Knight; Stepchildren, William Gowens and Stacie (Dustin) Holland. Grandchildren, Wilson Pruett, Meredith Pruett, Caden Gowens, Wesley Holland; Brother, Dennis Knight, Sisters, Phyllis (Ronnie) Jetton and Sandra (Roger) Marbutt.
Pallbearers will be Jack Kelly, Domingo Jimenez, David Herrod, Wilson Pruett, James Hanks and Butch Ramsey.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Pruett, Dustin Holland, Caden Gowens and Wesley Holland. Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Knight's name to the Cross Creek Community Church Building Fund.
