Mr. O’Dell was born June 25, 1940 to Clarence and Carmon O’Dell. James began his life unselfishly and remained a sweet, charming, and honorable man throughout his life, never faltering. He was a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather and son. The epitome of dependability, James began a 41 year career at Republic Steel in 1959, at age 19. A wonderful father, he selflessly raised his two daughters and was very proud to call them Auburn graduates. War Eagle! Marrying his wife, Nancy Clemons O’Dell in 2003, James and Nancy shared a rare and loving bond for the rest of his life. James was an avid fisherman, enjoyed golfing and handiwork, and of course, Auburn football. His gentle demeanor, his unassuming nature, and especially his mustached smile will be missed forever by his many friends and family members. We love you, James. We love you, Odie.
