John Michael Bettis, age 73, of Gadsden, Alabama passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020. Visitation will be held at Collier Butler Chapel on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 from 10:00 AM with funeral service following at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Hokes Bluff Cemetery. Collier Butler Funeral Home will direct service.
Mr. Bettis was a native of Illinois and a longtime resident of Alabama. He was a graduate of Lincoln Land Community College and was selected for the Who's Who of American Colleges.
Mr. Bettis is survived by his wife of 55 years, Faye Bartz Bettis; son and daughter-in-law Mike and Darlene Bettis; granddaughter Joni Rowland (Michael), great grandchildren Flora Elizabeth Rowland, Virginia Ann Rowland and Braxton Rowland; sister Marsha Guivas and sister in law Marilyn Taylor (Jim); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by father John Marshall Bettis and mother Theo Schroyer Bettis; sister Linda Clark.
