Kathelyn Groce Stephens

Kathelyn (Kathy) Louise Groce Stephens was born on September 9, 1954 in Lincoln, AL to the parents of Sarah and Clenon Groce. She transitioned to her eternal home peacefully in her home on August 23, 2018. Kathy attended the Talladega County School system where she graduated in 1973. Kathy accepted Jesus Christ at an early age under the pastorage of Elder Timothy Huffman at St. Mark Church of God in Christ in Lincoln, AL. She later attended Gadsden Technical School for tailoring where she met and later married Harold Stephens on September 26, 1977 in Gadsden, AL. From this union, she gave birth to three beautiful children. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family, attending church, cooking, sewing, and caring for children and the elderly. She also spent time being a foster parent to several children. Kathy was preceded in death by her mother (Sarah), father (Clenon), and sisters (Harriet and Rita). She leaves to cherish and honor her memories children Roderick (Tameka), Travis (Candice), and Shannice; grandchildren Shamar, Grey, Hunter, J’Mauri, and DeCorian; brothers Robert (Dorothy), Alfred (Linda), Terry (Sharon); aunts Jearlene Hutton and Tiny Roseman; uncle and longtime pastor Timothy Huffman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
