

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Crestwood Cemetery for Larry E. Sizemore, 71, of Gadsden who passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mr. Sizemore served in the United States Navy with Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron 3 from 1962-1966. After leaving the United States Navy, he worked for Gulf States Steel Plant. Then he furthered his military service in the 226 Combat Communications Group of the Alabama National Guard and 228 Combat Communications Squadron in the Tennessee Air National Guard retiring as Chief Master Sergeant on January 21, 1998. In Civilian occupation, he was J6 for United States Forces Command in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition, he participated in many exercises with the United States Readiness Command. He retired on February 28, 1999. After retirement, he worked for ITC Deltacom.
He was preceded in death by his father, Riley Edgar “R.E.” Sizemore; and mother Willodean Elliott Sizemore.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hamilton Sizemore; son, Chad Larramy (Allison) Sizemore; sister-in-law, Patsy Hamilton; and aunt, Marjorie “Bette” Burgess.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Ken Swaringen, Bill Miller, Thomas Boggs, DeWayne Higgins, Lanny Lankford, Harvey Fail, Gene Cleveland, David Rowland, Allen Aldridge, Steve Gilbert, and Kim Gilbert.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial may be made to the charity of your choice.
A special thanks to the nurses and doctors in the Critical Care Unit of Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
The family will accept friends from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
