Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Crestwood Cemetery for Mr. Lee Morris “Bird” Johnson, 89, of Gadsden, who passed away on January 3, 2011. Rev. Frank Samuels will officiate service. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Service directing.
Mr. Johnson was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. He retired from Siemens-Allis, served in the U.S. Navy and was a World War II veteran.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred U. Johnson.
Lee is survived his sons, Terry (Darla) Johnson, James (Donna) Johnson; daughters, Bonita Casey, Margarett Jones; sister, Ruth Morris; 11 grandchildren, 24 great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home from 6 pm until 8pm and Thursday from 12:30pm until 1:30.
