Lottie E. Howell

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Lottie Howell, 85, of Gadsden, who went to be with the Lord Monday, January 21, 2013. Rev. Albert Morgan and Rev. John Richey will officiate. Burial will be at Mt Pisgah Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mrs. Howell was a member of Fairview Baptist Church since the age of 13. She was a retired nurse with 20 years of service. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a great caregiver.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James Howell; son, Thomas Howell; grandson, Jeffrey Howell; parents, Thomas and Roxie Hopper, brother, R.T. Hopper; sister, Louise Vinson; and grandchild, Kara Beasley.

She is survived by her son, James “ Bobby” (Glenda) Howell; daughters: Carol (Joe) Foster, and Amy Smith; daughter-in-law, Sue Howell; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-great-grandchildren; and best friends Opal and Dell.

Pallbearers will be friends and family.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Courtney Lowe, 6th floor and SICU staff of Gadsden Regional Medical Center, Woodland Place, and Amedisys Hospice.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013.
