Marcie Lombard

Marcie McCorkle Lombard, age 93, of Gadsden, AL passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter. Father Carl Saxton will officiate. Burial will follow at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

Marcie, daughter of Frank White McCorkle and his wife Mamie, was a long time Gadsden resident. Born July 25, 1928, she was a twin with her sister Elizabeth (Bette). She was a graduate of Gadsden High School in 1946, and the Randolph Macon College in 1950. She was married to Harry W. Lombard in 1953. Marcie was an Army wife for 27 years, devoted wife for 63 years, mother of 3, grandmother to 6, and a great-grandmother of 2.

Marcie is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Warner Lombard; sister, Elizabeth Marcella McCorkle Wadsworth; and daughter, Kathleen (Kit) Marcella Lombard Hendricks.

She is survived by her son, Warner Lombard and his wife Serita; son, Frank M Lombard; son-in-law, Richard Hendricks; niece, Donna Wadsworth; grandchildren, Rick Hendricks, and his wife Christina, Beth Larsen, and her husband, Matt, Victoria Lombard, Stephen Lombard, Kyle Lombard, Matthew Lombard; and great grandchildren, Carter and Charlotte Larsen.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Lombard, Rick Hendricks, Kyle Lombard, Matthew Lombard, and Matt Larsen.

The family will accept flowers, or donations may be made to the Big Oak Ranch, Wounded Warriors, or Wounded Service Animals.

The family will receive friends from 5PM to 7PM on Friday, February 18, 2022, at the Funeral Home.
