

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Marnice Smith Gregg, age 98, Gadsden who passed away Monday, December 1, 2014. Rev. Anthony Copeland will officiate services at the funeral and Rev. Tim Wallace will officiate graveside services at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.
Mrs. Gregg loved to quilt with friends and crocheted afghans for local charities. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and was loved by everyone she met. She was very active in her church until her health began to decline.
She was a current member of First United Methodist Church of Rainbow City and a former member of Macedonia Baptist Church of Coates Bend.
She faithfully served alongside her husband during his 30 year pastorate of several Baptist Churches.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. J. T. Gregg, brother, Larue Smith, daughter-in-law, Glenna Gregg and son-in-law, Steve McDaniel.
She is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Myra Gregg McDaniel, Gadsden, sons, Mickey D. Gregg and wife Linda, Lilburn, GA and Thomas Marlon Gregg, Micanopy, FL, grandchildren, Mark, Barry, Nathan, Elizabeth and Elijah Gregg and Linda Barrett, brother, Charles Smith, In- laws, Nellie Gregg, Gynevis Gregg and Delwin Vinson, several nieces and nephews and Nancy Nash and Joy Underwood.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Special thanks to Gadsden Health and Rehab Center, Dr. Deborah Reiland for their love and care of our mother.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
