

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Opal Moore Harvey, age 96 of Gadsden who passed away Monday, October 21, 2024. Bro. Dale Olmstead will officiate with burial to follow and Union Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Harvey was born, one of eight children, August 3,1928 in Clay County, AL to Lyles and Donie Moore. She was a lifelong member of Union Methodist Church and had worked at West Clock retiring from Emco. Mrs. Harvey enjoyed gardening, dancing, needlepoint and playing the piano and organ. She was very involved with her grandchildren and community.
She was preceded in death by her husband of many years, H.D. Harvey, daughter-in-law, Patsy Prickett Harvey and 6 siblings.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Johnny Harvey; granddaughter and her family, Jeanna Waddell and husband, Harold Waddell; Kara Brewster and husband, Justis Brewster and Abby Agan; grandson and his family, Jeff Harvey and wife, Leslie Chance Harvey; Emily Harvey and John Harvey and fiancé Katelyn Morrow; granddaughter, Andrea Othon and family, Alex and Austin Othon all of Seattle, WA; sister, Barbara Elder, Clay County, AL and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Harvey, John Harvey, Harold Waddell, Justis Brewster, Richard Prickett, B.J. Vice, Bronson Vice and Mike Harrell.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff at McGuffey Health Care Center and the staff of Regal Place at Regency Pointe.
