
Patricia Joyce Williams Butler passed away Friday morning, November 29, 2013. She was 71 years of age. Patricia grew up in East Gadsden, now Glencoe and graduated from Glencoe High School in 1960. She was Salutatorian of her class. She attended Jacksonville State College and received her BA in Home Economics there. Pat worked for the Blount County Extension Service and Auburn University until her marriage to James B. Butler in 1969.
She is preceded in death by her parents Pierce H. Williams, Sr. and Margaret O’Barr Williams and her husband of 38 years, James B. Butler.
She is survived by her brother, Pierce H. Williams Jr., her nephew Trey Williams, his wife Kim and their children, Delainey and Zach Williams, all of Gadsden.
Pat was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
The family would like to thank Dr. Calhoun, the staff of the 3rd floor and the ICU at the Marshall County Hospital in Boaz, Alabama for their professionalism and kindness during her short period of treatment there. Also, Dr. John Campbell, and his staff at the Riverview Wound Center in Gadsden.
A special thanks to Jan Masters of Geraldine, Alabama and Shea Busenlehner for their kindnesses, deeds and friendship.
Graveside services will be held at the Crestwood Cemetery, Gadsden, Alabama on Tuesday December 3rd, 2013 at 1 PM. The Rev. Robbie Hendrick will officiate. There will be no visitation or viewing. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
Flowers are not requested but feel free to make a contribution to the Presbyterian church or a charity of your choice.
