

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Peggy M. Burnette, age 61, Rainbow City who went home to be with her Lord, Monday, August 18, 2014. Dr. Jay Stewart and Rev. John Templeton will officiate. Burial will be at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.
Mrs. Burnette was a faithful member of Dwight Baptist Church. She graduated from Montevallo receiving her Masters Degree, and received her education specialist degree from the University of Alabama. Mrs. Burnette taught Math and Science at Southside High School. One of her favorite pastimes was tending to her beautiful flowers in her yard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Euna Maddox.
She is survived by her husband Chris Burnette, son, Joshua (Kendra) Burnette, of Boaz, daughter, Hannah Burnette, of Gadsden, grandchild, Logan Burnette, sister, Cathy (Terry) Carroll, of Clanton, AL, special fuzzy companions, Minnie and Bella and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and special friends.
Pallbearers will be, David Cochran, Jerry Don Mabrey, Max Brannon, Tim Gallahar, Tyler Barnes and Pat Thomas.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Harold Mabrey.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff with Lawley Hospice.
The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to the building fund at Dwight Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
