Robert Thomas Freeman

Funeral Services will be at 12:30 pm Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. Robert Thomas Freeman, age 87 , Gadsden who passed away Monday, March 1, 2010. Rev. Bob Thornton will officiate with burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services Directing.

Mr. Freeman was born in Cherokee County and attended school there. He was a faithful member and deacon of Edgewood Baptist Church for over 50 years. He was a Christian who loved the Lord, his family and his church family. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company with 42 years of service. The joy of his life was his daughters and granddaughters. He enjoyed life with a positive attitude and had a tremendous sense of humor. Those who preceded him in death are his, parents, Roland Freeman and Bessie Henderson Freeman, brothers, Cecil, Gilbert and Elmer Freeman and sister, Iva Stokes.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 64 years, Ann W. Freeman, daughters, Barbara Suggs, Becky (Phil) Owen, grandchildren, Carrie Beth Suggs, Anna Katherine Owen and Mary Claire Owen, brother, George Freeman, Oxford, GA.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Edgewood Baptist Church, 1727 Mt. Zion Avenue, Gadsden, Al 35904

Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of Edgewood Baptist Church and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. James Robinson, Dr. Jason Ayres, Dr. Terry Robinson and the wonderful nurses and staff of Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

The family will receive friends from 11 am until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.
