Robert V. Guyton "Papa"

Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Collier-Butler Chapel honoring the life of Robert Guyton, "Papa," 82, who was born Jan. 1, 1928, and passed away Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Service directing.

He retired after over 50 years of service from the Cleaners Hangers Company. In his spare time he enjoyed working in his shop and watching the Atlanta Braves baseball and Alabama football. He loved keeping 4-wheelers, 3-wheelers and go-carts running for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His grandchildren were the love of his life. Mr. Guyton and his wife, Vennie, were members of Rainbow Church of Christ.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vennie Gladden Guyton; brother, Clyde Guyton; son, Stephen Guyton, daughter, Myra (Gary) Pointer; grandchildren, Michael, Genny and Garrett; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Alec and Morgan.

Pallbearers will be Gary, Michael and Garrett Pointer, Allen McClellan, Jeff Lancaster and Bobbie Darlene Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be elders and deacons at Rainbow Church of Christ.

Visitation will be held at Collier-Butler from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
