She was a longtime resident of Etowah County and a member of Second Baptist Church of Altoona. In her younger years she was a press operator with NASA and she had worked as a Floor Secretary at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Thelma is survived by her son Mike Parker (Dawn); daughter Rhonda Crosson (Jack); and daughter Carol Parker Griffith; Grandchildren Kellie Sauls (Kevin), Mandy Doster (Nick), Nicole Frazier (Dustin), Adam Parker, Brooklyn Griffith (David Culp), Adam Parker, Great Grandchildren Emma and Stella Doster, Grayson Sauls, Grant Frazier; sister Melba McCurley (Joe); brothers Glenn Barton (Marie), brother Dr. Max Barton (Glenda), and John Ted Barton (Trina); Many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins
Thelma was preceded in death by her husbands Jimmy Gilbert Parker and Howard Batty; parents J.T. and Elzie Barton; and sister Doris Jean Beacham (Earl).
Visitation for Thelma will be Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and funeral service will at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Altoona-Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family.
