Virginia R Cole

Virginia Robertson Cole, 92, of Huntsville, passed away February 15, 2020, at Valley View Health and Rehabilitation, Madison.

She was born July 11, 1927, in Talladega to Cecil and Louise Robertson. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lavelle Cole; their son, Steven Lavelle Cole; her parents; and her sister, Doris Patterson.

Mrs. Cole was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She devoted her life to her family. She was also a loving caregiver to many children throughout her years working in childcare.

She is survived by four children, Rebecca Smith and husband Larry Don of Huntsville, Johnny Cole and wife Cindy of Trussville, Cecil Cole and wife Jean of Decatur, and Candi Lindsay and husband Garry Hooper of Huntsville; eight grandchildren, Christian Gunner, Jennifer Retzke, Brandon Smith, Heather Kennedy, Matthew Cole, Annie Calatrello, Hannah Cobb, and Cole Lindsay; and 14 great-grandchildren, Christopher and Nolen Gunner; Lillian and Jefferson Retzke; Matilda, Piper and Crosby Smith; Cole and Samantha Kennedy; Lane, Olivia and William Cole; and Noah and Lucy Cobb.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday, at Rainbow Memorial Gardens, Rainbow City. Visitation will be from 11:30 am until 12:30pm at Collier-Butler Funeral Services, Gadsden.
