Wilburn "Bill" A. Minshew Jr. went to his heavenly home on February 28th, 2023 after an extended illness. He was a beloved husband, father, Papa, and friend to many. Bill was born on July 1st, 1947 to parents Wilburn A. Minshew and Lucille Perino Minshew. He was a retiree of Goodyear.
Bill was a member of Meadowbrook Church and especially loved his Life Group. He carried out his Christian faith in his desire to serve others. He enjoyed serving with the Matthew 25 Ministry and Way of the Cross. He was an outdoor enthusiast and always looked forward to golfing and Atlanta Braves baseball.
Bill is survived by his wife, Gail Gilliland Minshew; daughters, Beth (Michelle) Wysong and Jennifer Waddell; son, Jason Minshew (Delynn); grandchildren, Hannah Cranford (Dalton), Jaylyn Minshew, Deavin Menninger, Eric Mosca (Sara), Jonathan Mosca (Samantha); and great-grandchildren, Katerina, Paula, Sebastian, Jonah and Holly Mosca.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 3rd, 2023 at Collier Butler Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00am, followed by the service at 12:00pm. Rev. Jay Stewart and Rev. Mike Niemi will officiate with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family extends their appreciation to the SICU, 7th, and 8th floor nursing staff at Gadsden Regional Medical Center as well as Shepherd's Cove Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Bill to Shepherd's Cove, 408 Martling Road, Albertville, or to Way of the Cross Ministry care of Meadowbrook Church.
Bill will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery, 2505 4th St NW, Attalla, Alabama.
