Barbara Monfort, 88, of Gahanna, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on November 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on May 29, 1937, in Buffalo, New York, Barbara lived a life marked by unwavering faith, boundless love, and deep devotion to her family.
A proud and faithful believer, Barbara was a devoted member of New Life Church in Gahanna, where she found fellowship, purpose, and joy. Her faith shaped every part of her life—humble, generous, and always ready to lift others up in prayer or encouragement. Barbara’s gentle spirit and steady wisdom touched everyone she encountered.
Barbara was blessed with a large and loving family—her greatest pride and joy. She was the mother of eight children, grandmother to sixteen, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother many times over. She delighted in every milestone, prayed fervently for her family’s futures, and never missed an opportunity to express how proud she was. Her legacy continues through generations who carry forward the love, strength, and values she poured into them.
She is survived by Sharon Gonzales and Cleve Igoe, mother of two children, Victor Gonzales and Angela Simpkins; Michael and Sherri Rosinski, father of three children, Michael, Eric, and Alex Rosinski; Charles Rosinski, father of three children, Tabitha, Joey, and Faith Rosinski; Richard and Karen Rosinski, father of three children, Michael Rosinski, Erin Newland, and Ashley Weaver; John F. Rosinski; and Judi Eaton and Richard Graves, mother of two children, Cameron Woodward and Jade Eaton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Monfort; her ex-husband, Arthur Rosinski; her parents, Helen and Tony Gramada; her sister, Patricia Presley; her daughter, Ruth Lutz, mother of Daniel Riley, Cheryl Riley-Gregorio, and Nicholas Cutia; her daughter, Arlene Guerin; her aunt, Sue Meyers; her brother-in-law, Richard Ross; and her in-laws, John and Blanch Florek.
Barbara’s life was a testament to love in its purest form. She poured her heart into her family, sacrificing without hesitation so that her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren could thrive. Her devotion was steady and unwavering, reflected not only in the meals she lovingly prepared, the prayers she faithfully offered, and the countless rides, visits, and celebrations she made time for—but in the way she made each person feel deeply known and valued.
Barbara was the first to arrive in times of need and the last to leave when comfort was still required. Through quiet gestures and great moments alike, she taught her family what it meant to love unconditionally, to forgive freely, and to place others before oneself. Her legacy lives on in the warmth, faith, and resilience she instilled in every heart she touched.
To her family, Barbara was a guiding light. To her friends, a loyal confidant. To her church community, a steadfast believer whose faith never wavered. She leaves behind a legacy of grace, devotion, and love that will continue to inspire generations.
A visitation will be held on December 1, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast, located at 1051 E Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230, United States.
The funeral service will follow on the same day, December 1, 2025, starting at 12:00 pm at the same location, officiated by Pastor Steve Benninger.
May she rest in eternal peace in the arms of her Savior.
