

Carol passed away January 22, 2023, at the age of 86, at Johnstown Pointe nursing home after a long illness. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Fred Evans; her children, Mindy Andrix Willey (Dave Grundy) of Ellenton, FL., Larry (Joyce) Evans of Johnstown, OH., Lorrie (Steve) Donaldson of Johnstown, OH., Michele (Craig) Carson of Columbus, OH.; her grandchildren, Krista Tassinari, Brandi (James) Queener, Michael (Tara) Evans, Angelique' (Chris) Bradley, Jarren Donaldson, Amie Donaldson (Harry Mirando), and Cara (Jason) Barber; her great-grandchildren, Calla Tassinari, Gianna Tassinari, Graydon Evans, Levi Evans, Matt Evans, Joe Evans, Izaac Donaldson, Eli Donaldson, Taylor Mirando, Kylie Mirando, Olivia Mirando, Rylan Barber; her sisters, Patti (Bob) Poland and Barb Bennett; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Pauline and Lawrence McKelvey, Father and Mother In-law, Graydon and Pauline Evans, Mother and Father In-law, Martha and Carl Radford, Brother In-law, Bob Bennett, Granddaughters, Jacki, Anita, Sherri, and Cinnamon Evans, and Grandson, Clinton Andrix.
Viewing hours will be held Sunday, January 29th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Funeral Home 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230. Funeral service will be Monday, January 30th 2023, at 11:00 am same location.
Carol was employed as a bus driver with the Franklin County MRDD program for 15 years, and was a dedicated volunteer for the special Olympics. She was a Mary Kay consultant for many years as well.
Carol was an avid line dancer. She not only danced at the Millersport Sweet Corn Festival, and Ye Olde Mill (Velvet Ice Cream Utica, Ohio), but also taught a line dancing class during her time in Florida.
Carol and Fred were involved with Operation Buckeye for many years packing boxes for the active service members in Iraq and Afghanistan.
She was a member of Reynoldsburg United Methodist church in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
Carol loved playing the organ and taught herself how to play the organ and piano and played until the very end.
Carol was a 1954 graduate of the first graduating class of Olentangy High School.
Carol and Fred were Florida snowbirds for 15 years. They wintered in Bradenton, Florida. They both loved to travel and have many wonderful memories of places traveled.
Those who knew Carol knew she had a beautiful and heartwarming smile, kind word to share with everyone, and a gentle way of making every child feel special. Carol loved and adored all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they always brought a smile to her face.
Carol will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, or Bella Care Hospice of Columbus, Ohio in her memory.
