
David Lawrence McClure, age 74. Passed away unexpectedly June 2023, Born in Columbus, Ohio, to Charlotte Ann (Miller, Michel) and George McClure. Eastmoor High School Class of 1967. Lived 38 years in New Albany, Ohio, before retiring to Florida with his wife of 43 years, Mary Margaret (Marsh) McClure.
David worked with civil defense through Station House 24 in the 1960s; served in the US Army, with the National Security Agency; as Student Council President, Columbus Technical Institute (CTI) the forerunner of Columbus State University; completed studies at Franklin University; served on the Plain Township planning commission.
Worked for the Ohio Bonus Commission. Retired from the State of Ohio Department of Human Services, IT Administrator, Application Development. Certified as a Computer Professional by the National Institute for Certification
of Computer Professionals (ICCP) with certifications in Data Processing and computer programming with business specialization.
Golf enthusiast, prolific reader, especially Science Fiction, collector of fantasy art, enjoyed all genres and eras of music, followed the New York Yankees and known for his prowess with anything related to computers.
Inaddition to his wife, David is survived by his sister, Vickie (Paul) Chilton; brother-in-law Glyde A. (Carol decesed) Marsh, Jr. Nieces and nephews: Lisa Chilton, Cindy Chilton (Dave), Susan (Tony) Swigert, Perry (Jennifer) Marsh. Great nieces and nephews: Kyleigh Chilton, Jacob Clark, William Michael (BJ) VanHoose II, Austin, Alex, and Aiden Swigert, Owen and Avery Marsh
Interment at Maplewood Cemetery, New Albany, Ohio.
