Elizabeth "Betsy" M. Gallagher

Elizabeth McLeish “Betsy” Gallagher, 92, passed away on March 13, 2026. She was born January 29, 1934 in Columbus, Ohio to Allen and Ruth McLeish. She graduated from Mifflin High School and married John “Jack” Gallagher on May 29, 1954.

Betsy is survived by daughters Phyllis and Judith (Scott) McMahon; sons Michael (Carrie), Donald (Wendy), and Kevin (Nancy). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren (with one on the way); and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother William; sisters Louise and Mary Lynn; husband Jack; son Dennis; and great-granddaughter Molly McMahon.

After raising her children, Betsy worked at Columbus Steel Drum, then transitioned her love of bird watching and the beach into ownership of a Wild Birds Unlimited shop in Swansboro, NC. She also loved being with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration and memorial service will be held graveside in Pittsburgh, PA at a later date.
